El Corte Inglés has become the main sponsor and will give its name to the Circuit Scott 7 Estrellas By El Corte Inglés, the reference mountain bike circuit in the Community of Madrid, which in its tenth edition will be made up of 10 tests, with 55 kilometers each of them.
The competition, which runs through places in the Community of Madrid such as the Guadarrama park, began on February 13 in Serracines touring the area around Fresno de Torote. The next test will take place on February 27, with the Galapagar Reservoirs Rally.
The rest of the races will be held on March 26 in Talamanca de Jarama; on May 22, in Chichón; on June 5, in Cubas de la Sagra; on September 11, at FBK Las Rozas; on September 25, in Paracuellos del Jarama; on October 23, in El Pardo; on November 20, in Villanueva del Pardillo; and on December 18, in Arroyomolinos.
Both amateur and professional cyclists can participate in the circuit, with different modalities, with more complex routes full of ups and downs, alternated with paths and smoother areas, and another shorter modality. Cyclists will go through all kinds of routes such as roads, mountains or gravel, which combines tracks, trails and asphalt.
The agreement “reaffirms” El Corte Inglés’s commitment to sport, and specifically, to cycling, the distributor said in a statement.
The sponsorship director of El Corte Inglés, Javier Mercado, stressed that the company feels “very identified” with this circuit, which is a benchmark in cycling and allows them to “materialize the commitment to health, sport and the preservation of the environment” in the communities where it carries out its activity.
For his part, the director of the circuit, Javier Donaire, highlighted the relevance of the agreement. “El Corte Inglés is a powerful partner whose support gives us the necessary strength to continue working to improve and offer an excellent service to our participants. The athletes convey their enormous degree of satisfaction to us in each of the events, and it is our intention is to continue growing and expanding this product that offers us such good results in the Madrid region, to the entire national territory”, he said.
For his part, the commercial director of Scott, Francis Arribas, has highlighted the notoriety of the company’s commitment to this circuit. “The support of El Corte Inglés for this type of event is essential,” he said.
