MADRID, 24 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –
SD Eibar wasted a good opportunity to get three points from their visit to Racing de Santander on Friday, with whom they tied 2-2 despite winning 0-2 in the final minutes, while SD Huesca beat Deportivo de La Coruña 2-1, in the matches that opened the second day of LaLiga Hypermotion 2024-2025.
In Santander, Eibar, one of the usual candidates for promotion to LaLiga EA Sports, were unable to take their second win of the season despite coming close with goals from Antonio Puertas just after the half-hour mark and from Álvaro Carillo at the start of the second half.
The team from El Sardinero made the most of their advantage until the 86th minute when Racing reduced the deficit through Suleiman Camara, a goal that gave them extra time for the final minutes and they found the equaliser with a penalty scored by Andrés Martín in the 92nd minute and which meant the second consecutive 2-2 draw at El Sardinero for the Cantabrian team after the opening day against another promotion contender like UD Almería.
In the other game on Friday, Huesca moved into the provisional lead of the second division after claiming their second win of the campaign by beating newly promoted Deportivo de La Coruña 2-1 at El Alcoraz thanks to a goal in the 93rd minute.
The Huesca team took the lead in the first 45 minutes through a penalty scored by Óscar Sielva and although the Galician team reacted after the break and equalised through Ximo Navarro, they lost a point in added time on a corner kick finished by Jeremy Blasco.
