Sociedad Deportiva Eibar and Deportivo Alavés rose to the provisional leadership of the SmartBank League this Saturday after beating Tenerife and Leganés, respectively, in a first day at Mirandés and Las Palmas could not beat Sporting and Zaragoza at home.
In Ipurua, Gaizka Garitano’s pupils won the duel against Tenerife (2-1) thanks to a hard-fought comeback that culminated in the final minutes. The gunsmiths certified the three points with a penalty converted by Stoichkov, in the 86th minute, after Fede Venancio equalized shortly after the start of the second half.
