Duplantis sets the pole vault world record at 6.19 meters

The Swedish athlete Armand Duplantis broke his pole vault world record on Monday after surpassing the bar of 6.19 meters during the indoor track meeting in Belgrade, the stage precisely within eleven days of the ‘Indoor’ World Cups.

The 22-year-old Olympic champion improved his previous record by one centimeter, achieved on February 15, 2020 in the Scottish town of Glasgow, and did so on his third attempt, finally achieving a record he had been looking for for a long time. . “I think I’ve tried to jump 6.19 meters about 50 times. This record has been a long time coming, I’ve never been at a height that has given me so much trouble, so it’s a very good feeling.
