Doña Letizia and her super minimal baby pink dress to celebrate art at ARCO

ARCO neither disappoints nor leaves you indifferent. ARC snatches. It’s like the look that Mrs. Joy to attend the fair. It does not disappoint. The Queen’s outfits in this great event at Ifema have that artistic commitment. It’s up to you. It is usually a piece that becomes the great premiere of winter. Or, at least, in the most commented.

This year, its most Mediterranean and colorful edition, was not going to be the exception. A super-minimal, powdery pink, midi-length dress with a matching belt has been his choice at this party with avant-garde art.

I was on my way to Ifema with the idea of a look for the Queen in blue or white colors, so much from the Sorolla universe, now that it is celebrating its centenary. And in an ARCO, in addition, that she pays tribute to the Mediterranean. Well no. Nothing could be further from this iconography of the blue sea and Levante light. In her place, Letizia has opted for a premiere piece in a baby pink tone, which she has combined with some very high-heeled pumps in the same color.

For five days, Madrid is the world stage for painting and sculpture. In this urban, modern and colorful context, the Queen’s look has blended in with the surroundings. In short, a minimalist set with a romantic air.

ARCO, it is never the same: Picasso, omnipresent

This 42nd edition can be visited until Sunday, February 26. Halls 7 and 9 of IFEMA (Madrid) accommodate the 211 galleries that make up the fair. ARCO ‘never the same’ is also one of the most prominent spaces this year dedicated to Latin American art, which addresses the diversity of artistic forms and sensibilities that come from the other side of the Atlantic. This section, curated by Mariano Mayer and Manuela Moscoso, brings together a selection of South American artists through exhibitions by 11 gallery owners. Others include Jaqueline Martins and Max Mayer.

On the official tour, the Kings have passed through the space The Mediterranean: A Round Sea, a great staging that includes 19 stands. Museum directors, gallery owners and artists participate. This section is curated by Marina Fokidis. The piece that has received the most flashes in this contest is the shocking and hyper-realistic sculpture ‘Picasso died here’, which shows the inert artist from Malaga, dressed in a sailor striped T-shirt. It is exhibited at the DNA stand of the groundbreaking Eugenio Merino. It coincides that 2023 is Picasso Year, for the 50th anniversary of his death.
