The great figures of world tennis finish their return to competition, scheduled for the end of July, after the break due to the coronavirus pandemic. Some of the most outstanding rackets on the circuit will meet from this weekend on the Adria Tour, the tournament organized by Novak Djokovic. Below we bring you all the details about this new tournament.
The Adria Tour will tour various countries of the Balkan Peninsula and will be held in some of the most prominent cities in these countries as Belgrado (Serbia), Zadar (Croatia) and Banja Luka and Sarajevo (Bosnia Herzegovina), while the city that will host the competition in Montenegro has yet to be defined.
The tournament will start in Belgrade on June 13 and 14 to continue a week later in Zadar (June 20-21). The following week the competition will reach Montenegro (June 27-28) before ending in Bosnia-Herzegovina with quotes from Banja Luka (3-4 July). The finale will be put on with an exhibition match between Novak Djokovic and Bosnian Damir Dzumhur in Sarajevo (July 5)
The Adria Tour will bring together great figures from world tennis. In addition to Novak Djokovic, number 1 in the world and organizer of the tournament, two other rackets of the world Top-10 will also participate, such as the Austrian Dominic Thiem and German Alexander Zverev. The Bulgarian will also participate Grigor Dimitrov and outstanding Croatian tennis rackets like Marin Cilic or Borna Coric and Serbian tennis as Viktor Troicki, Dusan Lajovic or Filip Krajinovic.
Adria Tour matches will be played to the best of three sets, with four games for each set, similar to the style of tournaments such as the NextGen ATP Finals or other beneficial tournaments that have also been played under the Fast4 format.
Eurosport will be the television that will broadcast the Adria Tour matches live. The network will broadcast the first two dates of the event in Belgrade (June 13-14) and Zadar (June 20-21) through Eurosport 2 and Eurosport Player in daytime session from 14:00 to 18:00 and in night session of 19:00 to 23:00 on Saturdays and from 19:00 to 21:00 on Sundays.
