Novak Djokovic continues to prepare his return to the courts in a major tournament on the ATP circuit, something he will do at the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters (April 9-17), the first Masters 1,000 that the Serbian will play in 2022 after not being able to do so in Indian Wells and Miami due to not being vaccinated.
Djokovic uploaded a video to his social networks this Sunday in which he appeared training on the clay courts of the Monte Carlo Country Club after the French government lifted restrictions on those not vaccinated against the coronavirus, something that has allowed Djokovic to play in Monte Carlo and also at Roland Garros.
Djokovic appears in Monte Carlo as the great favorite for the title due to his status as number one in the ATP ranking and that condition of favorite is even greater for the Serbian after knowing the casualties of Daniil Medvedev and Rafa Nadal due to injury. Djokovic sees in Monte Carlo the great opportunity to turn the page on a turbulent start to the 2022 season and in which he hopes to rediscover his best tennis after falling in the quarterfinals of the Dubai tournament, the only tournament that the Serbian has been able to play this year until now.
