Novak Djokovic wants to amend the mistake he made after the Adria Tour was held without the security measures to avoid the risk of contagion due to coronavirus. The charity tournament became a focus of contagion after Djokovic himself, Grigor Dimitrov, Borna Coric and Viktor Troicki among others tested positive for coronavirus after holding the second date of the tour in Zadar (Croatia).
For this reason Djokovic has donated more than 40,000 euros to help citizens of the Serbian city of Novi Pazar, one of the most affected by the coronavirus in the Balkan country, according to Spotklub.
Novi Pazar decreed the health alert in late June after there had been a positive growth in coronavirus in Serbia in recent weeks, as the country has gone from reporting 50 new cases a month ago to 200 per day in recent days. According to data from the Johns Hopkins University map Serbia has registered 14,836 positives and 281 deaths for a virus that Novak Djokovic himself is fighting against and which now intends to help his country defeat the pandemic.
