Djokovic beats Dimitrov and wins his seventh title in Paris

MADRID, 5 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic has won the Paris-Bercy tournament for the seventh time, the last ATP Masters 1,000 of the season, after beating Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov (6-4, 6-3) this Sunday in the final, a title that It is the sixth of the season and number 97 of his sporting career.

In an impeccable match, in which he did not allow his opponent – who was playing his first Masters 1,000 final in six years – to have even a chance to break, the world number one took advantage of the only break opportunity in the first set to get ahead in the contest, which ended with two more breaks in the second set.

In this way, Djokovic, who has not lost a match since he did so in the Wimbledon final against the Spanish Carlos Alcaraz, becomes the first player capable of reaching 40 ATP Masters 1,000 titles. Since he gave in on the grass of the All England Club in London, the Serbian has accumulated a streak of 18 consecutive victories – conquering Cincinnati, US Open and Paris-Bercy.

The one from Belgrade also establishes himself as the third player in the Open Era with the most ATP Tour trophies in individual mode (97), only behind the Swiss Roger Federer (103) and the American Jimmy Connors (109).
