Discipline sanctions Getafe with the partial closure of the Coliseum for the next three games

The Disciplinary Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) sanctioned Getafe CF this Wednesday with the partial closure of the Coliseum for a period of three games, in addition to a financial fine of 27,000 euros, for the racist insults of ‘monkey’ and ‘gypsy’ against Sevilla player Marcos Acuña and his coach, Quique Sánchez Flores, respectively.

“Impose on Getafe CF a sanction of partial closure of the sports venue for a period of three matches and a financial penalty of 27,000 euros,” Disciplina resolved in a statement published on the RFEF website regarding the racist shouts against the Sevillistas this weekend. of the week, in the match corresponding to matchday 30 of LaLiga EA Sports, some infractions considered by the Committee as “very serious.”

Given this sanction, the Committee asked the Madrid club to, before 4:00 p.m. this Wednesday, “identify the structure of the stands of the sports venue in order to determine the area of ​​the stadium to be closed.” According to the referee’s report, it would affect the sector located in the central area of ​​the field behind the position of the second assistant referee.

“To this end, in the next three matches to be played by Getafe CF in its sports facilities, access to the public in said area must be closed, which will be duly delimited, and spectators who, if applicable, may not be able to relocate. occupying them on a regular basis,” added the Committee’s decision.

Furthermore, during the matches covered by the sanction, the closed area must display “a visible message condemning violent, racist, xenophobic and intolerant acts and conduct in football and supporting fair play.”

The capacity of the Coliseum will be reduced due to this sanction in the League matches against Real Sociedad, on April 21 (2:00 p.m.); Athletic Club, on May 5; and Atlético de Madrid, on May 15.

This Monday, LaLiga sent a written complaint to the RFEF in which it stated that in the 68th minute, on the opposite side of the benches, “some local fan addressed the visiting player Acuña saying ‘Acuña mono’ and ‘Acuña you come from the mono ‘”.

Furthermore, the match director confirmed another incident, a minute later, “through the Sevilla delegate”, who reported that Sánchez Flores received insults from the area behind the benches, “where one or some fans” told him “‘gypsy ‘”.
