Diego Llorente, one month off

The defender of Leeds United
Diego Llorente He is facing a month-long absence after suffering a muscle injury in Tuesday's 2-1 win over Newcastle United, team manager Marcelo Bielsa said.

The 27-year-old Spanish international, who has been plagued with injury problems since his arrival from Real Sociedad last summer, appeared for Leeds at St James Park, but limped off after 10 minutes and was replaced by Pascal Struijk. “It's a muscle injury and he will be out of the team for three or four weeks,” Bielsa told reporters before Sunday's trip to Leicester City. “We are all trying to help and support him during this injury.”

Llorente is expected to miss the Premier League matches against Everton, Crystal Palace, Arsenal, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa.

Bielsa also said Leeds would be willing to extend the contract of Ezgjan Alioski, whose commitment expires at the end of the season. “When it comes to a player staying at the club, the first and most important thing is that the player wants to stay. The player must choose the club and then the club decides, ”said Bielsa. “I think if Alioski chooses Leeds, Leeds will elect Alioski.”
