Deutsche Bank and German SailGP Team Announce Three-Year Partnership

MADRID, 16 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The German SailGP team and Deutsche Bank Wealth Management announced a three-year sponsorship agreement, making the German bank the sailing team’s first global partner.

According to the German entity, the partnership provides a new platform for Deutsche Bank to engage with its clients, both existing and potential. “In addition, the collaboration fits perfectly with efforts to form alliances to protect the oceans and reinforce Deutsche Bank’s history in promoting sports,” he said in a statement.

For the German SailGP team, it underlines its ambition to get involved in environmental protection and act as a leadership model for future generations and offers a great opportunity to build on this goal.

The CEO of the German SailGP team, Tim Krieglstein, assured that Deutsche Bank is a partner that is committed to positive change and protecting the oceans for future generations. “This association, in this first stage, gives us the opportunity to jointly analyze processes and develop actions that can be included in our sustainability strategy,” he added.

For his part, the director of Strategy, Marketing and Global Client Management Deutsche Bank Private Bank, Julian Thurston, said he was “proud” to be the global partner of the German SailGP team and to help “enhance innovation and sustainability in the sailing sport”.

“At Deutsche Bank, the blue economy represents a crucial part not only of our sustainability strategy, but also of our business objectives of being the ‘Global Hausbank’ for families and entrepreneurs,” he said.

According to Deutsche Bank, the joint goal is to take sport and its sustainability goals to new levels by educating people, bringing fans closer to the action and offering world-class experiences to customers around the world.

Furthermore, joining forces from the beginning gives the SailGP team from Germany and Deutsche Bank Wealth Management the unique opportunity to not only support existing projects, but also to jointly develop pioneering strategies in the field of sustainability and move in a common direction.

As part of the sponsorship agreement, the boat and racing clothing carry the Deutsche Bank logo. In addition, the bank will also enjoy a number of sponsorship benefits, including marketing and social media rights. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the precise sponsorship costs.
