Der Spiegel: The Superliga awaits the yes of Bayern, Dortmund and PSG

Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain could also end up being part of the new European Super League. This is what the prestigious German magazine Der Spiegel has just revealed in its online version, based on the 167 pages that make up the agreement for the new competition, dated April 17, 2021, signed by the twelve founding clubs and held by the writing of Der Spiegel. In said contract There is a paragraph in which it is detailed that the Superliga board of directors will offer Bayern, BVB and PSG “as soon as possible” to become the last three founding members of the new competition.

Always according to Der Spiegel, such ensembles they would get a deadline to say yes to the Super League. In the case of PSG would be 14 days from the invitation while the two Germans would have a total of 30 days to give their answer. If it ends up joining the already well-known founding teams, both PSG and Bayern and Dortmund would also secure a part of the 3.5 billion euros that JP Morgan will distribute among the entities that join the new project of the football elite. If the offer is rejected, the Super League would offer to become founding members to other clubs or open more places for qualification through league competitions.

What is clear is that, based on this information, the recent Bayern Munich statement on the Super League takes on another nuance. “FC Bayern did not participate in the planning of a Super League. We are convinced that the current static of football guarantees a serious base “, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, president of the club's board of directors, was quoted in a press release that does not rule out in its entirety that Bayern ends up joining the Super League. Of course, it would be impossible for Rummenigge, as expected, to end up inheriting the position of Andrea Agnelli, vetoed after his role in the creation of the Super League, in the UEFA Executive Committee if the Munich boss truly contemplates the option of placing to his club in the Super League.
