MADRID, 28 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Casademont Zaragoza announced this Thursday the signing of US power forward Deon Thompson (33 years, 2.04 meters), who already has experience in the Endesa League after his previous stint at San Pablo Burgos and Unicaja, until the end of the season.
The injury to inside Jamal McLean, who will be out for four to six weeks due to a sprained ankle, has prompted the Aragonese team to sign Thompson, whose last team until now was the Ponce Lions of Puerto Rico.
“With this incorporation we intend to gain consistency and solidity, since he is a player who knows the Endesa League and has a lot of experience after competing in great teams and at the highest level. That is why he can help us to be more competitive. He can make a good couple with Hlinason, since they are complementary players: Tryggvi is deeper and Thompson can give us a new record when it comes to playing the direct block, where we are getting little benefit, “analyzed Zaragoza coach Jaume Ponsarnau.
