Dembélé will be operated on next Monday in Finland

Ousmane Dembélé will undergo surgery next Monday, June 28 in Turku, Finland, where he will be operated on by the surgeon Lasse Lempainen, who will carry out the surgery under the supervision of the Barça doctors.

It is the same doctor who already intervened on the forward on February 11, 2020 of a rupture of the proximal biceps femoris tendon of his right thigh.

After reappearing, Dembélé had avoided injuries until he was injured in the game against Hungary after coming off the bench and he was diagnosed with a disinsertion in the biceps tendon in his right knee. It is not the same injury that Lempainen operated on, but it has to do with it. If then the tendon broke in half, has now disengaged from the joint. In any case, both are related.

The French striker, who ends his contract with the Blaugrana club on June 30 next year, will be a minimum of four months off. For being injured with his national team Barcelona have a right to compensation under the FIFA Protection Program.

The regulation contemplates compensation of 20,548 euros per day and up to a maximum of one year for teams whose players are injured while being summoned with their national team to play matches included in the international calendar between January 1, 2019 and December 21, 22.
