Delaney leaves Denmark camp due to injury

MADRID, 23 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Sevilla FC midfielder Thomas Delaney had to leave Denmark’s concentration in the World Cup in Qatar this Wednesday afternoon, due to a knee injury that forced him to retire in Tuesday’s match against Tunisia, which ended in a draw to zero within Group D.

“We will miss him, both on and off the field. Other players are ready and we have a strong team for the next games,” the Danish soccer federation said in a statement on Wednesday. The Sevilla player had to leave the field of play before the break after receiving a blow in an action with a rival.

Thus, the former Borussia Dortmund player will now have to wait for the diagnosis of his knee to be confirmed and he will be out for at least four weeks, according to the text of the Danish federation. Delaney is expected to fly directly to Seville to be treated by the club’s medical services and begin the recovery process.
