Atlético de Madrid confirmed this Monday its third signing for its women’s team, the young 20-year-old defender Xènia Pérez, who arrives from RCD Espanyol and has signed until June 30, 2025.
According to the rojiblanco club, Xènia Pérez “is a forceful footballer in duels, with great defensive capacity in one-on-one and expeditious cuts, all the result of her good placement and her physical condition”. “Also, she is a player capable of building from behind, whether it’s moving the ball or driving,” she added.
For its part, the Catalan central defender, who made his debut with Espanyol in the Primera Iberdrola in the 2019-2020 season, recognized that his signing for Atlético de Madrid was “a pride and a very nice responsibility”.
“I really want to start, to get to know the team, to enjoy myself here and to achieve all my goals. I am a very demanding player with myself, I am strong in disputes and I have good movement of the ball. I want to continue growing and learning and in this club I’m going to learn a lot and grow even more”, he stated in statements on his new club’s website.
Xènia Pérez is the third incorporation made by the mattress team after the hiring of the Spanish international midfielder Irene Guerrero and the German central defender Merle Barth.
