Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt is now officially a Bayern Munich player, a club with which he has reached an agreement to sign a contract until June 2027, according to a statement from the German team.
“FC Bayern has signed defender Matthijs de Ligt (22 years old) from Juventus. The Dutch international will have a contract until June 30, 2027,” the Bavarian club announced.
The defender made his professional debut with Ajax in 2016, when he was 17 years old, even scoring a goal. He is the youngest captain in Ajax history and the youngest debutant for the Dutch national team since 1945. In 2019 he won the League and Cup double with Ajax, signing for Juventus at the end of the season. In the ‘Vecchia Signora’ he lifted a league title, a Coppa and the Supercoppa. After 117 official matches and eight goals, he arrives at Bayern to strengthen and rejuvenate the German defense.
