De la Fuente: “We have a spectacular streak”

Balance of the pass to the quarterfinals: “I'm very happy. We knew it was a key game and that it was going to be very costly to beat the Czech Republic, from what we had seen. It was difficult for us to catch the rhythm of the game and take the initiative clearly, perhaps because of the tension. Little by little the team has let go, it has gained in confidence and the second half the team has grown. The chances and the goals have given us the peace of mind we needed. We are happy because we have a spectacular streak. It is to be satisfied with a group that two years ago was not what it is now ”.

Talk at break: “At the end of the first half there were players warming up because we wanted to shake up the team a bit, give it a new orientation. Then in the second half the team has been gaining confidence and we have estimated at first not to make the changes. Then it is true that these changes have given us a lot of life, they have contributed a lot. I have seen the team a bit blocked by responsibility, it was gripping them. But it is a very safe team, I am delighted ”.

The most positive: “The growth of the team, the confidence and the security with which the players are. There is room for improvement. It is a pity that now we have to spend two months without being together, but we will try that when we return we recover all the time that has been left on the road. The best thing about the team is the desire to improve and the ability to improve ”.

Nerves: “The team was quite nervous, anxious, they wanted to quickly settle the classification. The Czechs put us many difficulties, it was not easy to deepen. The rest was good, it has given us tranquility and calm. The changes were effective and all that has been overturning the balance in our favor. ”

All the field players have played: “They all deserved it. There are only three games, you don't have to give away minutes, they earn them. We wanted everyone to make their debut. We have achieved it, only the two goalkeepers are missing. It is a way of recognizing the feeling of the group, they are very united” .
