De Bruyne is still not the highest paid in England

After winning at the last minute thanks to a Phil Foden goal against Borussia Dortmund, Manchester City took the opportunity this morning to confirm what was an open secret: the renovation of Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgian star has extended his contract until 2025, the previous one ended in 2023, and if he fulfills it, he will complete a decade as skyblue, as did other team legends such as Kompany, Agüero or David Silva.

De Bruyne has achieved personal and collective success at City, being also the extension of Pep Guardiola on the field and he himself has recognized that “there was no question to sign that contract“. Where if there were more doubts was in the figures that the Belgian was going to pocket, even more so when the citizens confirmed yesterday losses of 150 million during the 19-20 season.

The one appointed by the Professional Footballers Association (PFA) as best player of last season, continues to be key in the splendid season that City is doing and that is why many believed that it was time to make him the highest paid player in the Premier. But no, according to the Daily Mail, De Bruyne has received an improvement over £ 300,000 per week who won, but is still somewhat far from the players who pocket the most money, Aubameyang and the Spaniard De Gea.

According to the Daily Mail again, this is the list of the 10 highest-paid players in the entire Premier League. It stands out that both the Manchester City and United have three players, Liverpool with two representatives and Chelsea and Arsenal with one each. Also noteworthy Bale's case, which charges 30 million gross per year but of which Tottenham only pays half, Real Madrid taking care of the other half. For this reason, it does not appear on a list that would undoubtedly occupy the top positions.

The 10 players with the highest salary in the Premier

  1. David De Gea – £ 375,000 per week
  2. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – £ 350,000 per week
  3. Kevin De Bruyne – £ 300,000 (prior arrangement) per week
  4. Raheem Sterling – £ 300,000 per week
  5. Paul Pogba – £ 270,000 per week
  6. Anthony Martial – £ 250,000 per week
  7. Sergio Aguero – £ 220,000 per week
  8. Mo Salah – £ 220.00 per week
  9. Ben Chilwell – £ 190,000 per week
  10. Virgil van Dijk – £ 180,000 per week
