“I want to finish the year near the Top-50”

After the game, Davidovich assessed his upcoming challenges after his advances each week. “I wanted to end the year around 50. I am very happy with the progress of each week, they are tough games that require me. We are in the last week, normally one wants to go on vacation, but I am enjoying on the track, I feel very comfortable , I want to stay here until the last minute, “he said.

“I'm happy with the game I'm doing and I am very excited to play the next round, “he added.

The succession of good games and victories has also strengthened their morale, to the point that he feels capable of competing against any rival.

“At the US Open, before playing against (Alexander) Zverev, I looked inferior. And I showed it. But as a result of that match, I have been gaining confidence, and now I know that I can make a match for a 'top 10' and even beat him. I am very confident, I am growing every day, “he said.

If Schwartzman wins his duel against Gasquet he will have to prove it, since the Argentine entered the top 10 at the last Roland Garros And now he is fighting to get the last ticket to the ATP Finals in London that brings together the best 8 of the year.

“I recently played against him, I had the game won, but I got very nervous and he came back (…) It is clear that I want him, but he is a very good player, very fast, very solid. I can't say I'm going to beat him, but I have to play my game and we'll see, “he said.
