Davidovich suffers Zverev’s comeback in Beijing

The Spaniard says goodbye to the ATP 500 tournament in his second match

MADRID, 30 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish tennis player Alejandro Davidovich lost (6-7(4), 6-2, 6-1) this Saturday against the German Alexander Zverev in his second match at the ATP 500 tournament in Beijing, despite winning the first set.

The man from Malaga, who advanced solidly from his debut in the Chinese event, seemed to do the difficult thing against the German, winning a first set in which both broke the rival’s serve on three occasions.

However, after taking the lead in an equally exciting sudden death, ‘Foki’ gave up early in the second set. Zverev signed a convincing 5-1, which he did not waste to quickly go to the tiebreaker of a third act that was also German.

Davidovich lost his first serve and did not take advantage of the break ball that followed, a blow that took him out of the match to a 4-0 lead. Zverev signed his pass to the quarterfinals, where he will face the Chilean Nicolás Jarry, while the Spaniard said goodbye at a time of few victories since the 1,000th Masters in Canada.
