David Silva, one more year at Real Sociedad

MADRID, 29 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish midfielder David Silva renewed this Friday a year with Real Sociedad to wear ‘txuri-urdin’ for a third season next year, “happy” to feel at home and willing to continue achieving goals in San Sebastian.

“In the last two seasons, the Canarian footballer has been fundamental in lifting the Cup title, obtaining the European passport from last year and having his passport oriented, with a commitment and loyalty towards the Club and one with his complete identification with the ‘txuri-urdin’ project”, says the Real in the announcement of the renewal of the canary.

Silva arrived at the Basque team in the summer of 2020, as a Manchester City legend. Many pointed to a retirement in the Spanish League, but the Canarian showed that he still had and still has a lot of football, to show his magic again in Spain and become one of the leaders of good football for Imanol Alguacil’s men.

“I’ve had two very good years here and we want to finish this one by also qualifying for Europe. We’re having great games, playing very good football. To continue another year makes me happy and content,” Silva told the club’s media, in his first statements after the renewal was announced.

“Before coming I already knew that the club was doing well. The team played good football, with Imanol’s style. It is growing a lot and being in the fight for Europe every year is very good. I have felt the work that is both in the club and in the team, a lot of work is done and that is a philosophy that I have always had in the teams in which I have been and here I have continued with it”, he added, happy for that signing until 2023.

In addition, Silva confessed that the reception of San Sebastián has been fundamental. “My family is very comfortable here and when you go out the people are charming. In two years I have made quite a few friends and that has been an important aspect to continue. They make you feel at home and everything is easier that way”, said.

“When you start to be at the top for so many years, the players want to come and that’s good for the club. Having people who want to come and contribute is good for everyone,” he finished, focused on finishing the season in the European zone for next season.
