David Kravish: “It would be unacceptable if Unicaja did not qualify for Europe”

MADRID, 8 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The American center David Kravish, 29 years old and 2.08 meters tall, assured in his presentation as a new Unicaja player, in the Martín Carpena press room, that he arrives at a club with “great history and tradition” and that he is ” very motivated to help” the growth of the team and achieve the objective of fighting well in the Endesa League and getting into European competition.

“With the team that has been made and the history of this club, it would be unacceptable not to qualify for the Basketball Champions League (BCL). I have high expectations with the team, it is a club with a great organization, a very good squad and we have to be in the BCL and I have the same expectations for the Endesa League”, he stated at a press conference.

Kravish arrives with the endorsement of knowing what the Endesa League is, since he played it in the 2019-20 season in the ranks of BAXI Manresa. “I know how competitive the Endesa League is and that will help me adapt to the team as soon as possible,” he assured.

He assured that it was not difficult for him to accept Unicaja’s offer and leave Galatasaray. “Being a club with history, tradition, with everything that is off the field… The city is beautiful, the location is perfect, it was a fairly easy decision,” he was honest.

Asked about his game, he stressed that he has played as a pivot and also as a ‘4’, as well as being able to play alongside another pivot. “I feel comfortable in both positions, although most of my career has been as a center,” he recalled.

As for his new coach, Ibon Navarro, he revealed that he spoke with him during the summer. “I arrived yesterday and have had a medical examination, but my impression is that he is a very serious, intelligent coach, who has everything well organized. It has been a good experience,” he said.

Kravish, summoned by the Bulgarian national team to play in the next FIBA Window, commented that the preseason is very important for him but that he does not have a date to return to Malaga. “It will depend on whether I play the FIBA Window or the Eurobasket. If I don’t play the latter, I would have all the time to adapt,” he said.
