Darwin Núñez signs for Liverpool for 75 million

It’s official. Benfica has announced the signing of Darwin Nunez (22 years old) for Liverpool, which makes him the most expensive signing in the history of the English club.

The agreement is already complete. Benfica has reported in an official statement that the ‘red’ team has signed the Uruguayan striker for a fixed 75 million euros plus another 25 in variables, which would raise the figure to 100 ‘kilos’ with which had been rumored in the last few hours.

In this way, the Darwin Nunez becomes the second most expensive signing of what we have in the market after that of Tchouameni for Madrid, which according to various sources would be between 100 and 120 million euros.

Although Liverpool have not yet made it official, Núñez would sign until June 2028.

“In the early hours of this Monday (0:44 a.m.), Benfica informed the Securities Market Commission (CMVM) that it had reached an agreement with Liverpool FC for the sale of all the rights of the player Darwin Nuñez, for an amount of 75 million euros. The agreement provides for the payment of a variable remuneration, so that the total amount of the sale could reach the amount of 100 million euros. You are also informed that the aforementioned agreement is conditional on the signing of the player’s sports contract with Liverpool FC”, informs the press release published for Benfica.
