Darwin Núñez maintains Liverpool’s good leadership in the 99th minute

MADRID, 2 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

A header from Darwin Núñez made it 0-1 for Liverpool in the 99th minute against Nottingham Forest this Saturday on matchday 27 of the Premier League, to ensure another week of solid leadership for the Reds and put the pressure on Manchester City and Arsenal.

The Uruguayan striker, who came off the bench in the 60th minute and reappeared after two weeks injured, headed in a Mac Allister cross with time already expired, in the visitors’ siege at the City Ground. Liverpool thus has 63 points, compared to 59 for Pep Guardiola’s team and 58 for Mikel Arteta’s team, with one more game.

Meanwhile, the day left a victory (2-3) for Aston Villa over Luton to reaffirm their fourth position. Unai Emery’s men, with a double from Ollie Watkins (16) who followed Erling Halaand (17) and Digne’s winning goal in the 89th minute, responded to Tottenham’s victory over Crystal Palace shortly before (3-1).

The ‘Spurs’ took the London derby with a comeback in the final minutes, with goals from Timo Werner, Romero and Heung-Min Son. With one more game, Villa is fourth with 55 points, compared to the 50 of a Tottenham team that made up for the defeat against Wolves.

Precisely against Wolverhampton, Newcastle found a necessary victory at home after more than two months, with a 3-0 that was opened by former Real Sociedad player Isak. With 40 points, Newcastle is still far from a European zone that West Ham approached (42), with a 1-3 against Everton where a great goal from Tomas Soucek stood out.

Meanwhile, Chelsea rescued a point (2-2) against Brentford thanks to Disasi, on another discreet day for the Blues on the 52nd birthday of their coach Mauricio Pochettino.
