Daniel Sancho had three bites from Edwin Arrieta: the evidence that demonstrates Edwin Arrieta's aggression

The Spanish chef's lawyers continue with their media tour to explain the defense of Daniel Sancho facing the imminent trial for the murder of Edwin Arrieta. It will begin in Thailand next April and more and more data is coming to light to explain what happened on August 5 in a bungalow on Koh Panghan island. According to the lawyer Marcos García Montesthere was an “attempted rape” by the Colombian surgeon and his client acted in “legitimate defense”: “This, in Spain, would be an accident.”

The lawyer has shown the images that the Thai police took of Daniel's marks on the same day of his arrest: “He had these injuries, they are scratch injuries, incisor bites here, two other bites and a blow. It is not a fight but an attack. Biting him three times is difficult”has said.

García Montes reaffirms his criticism of the Thai agents who carried out the investigation: “Daniel declared without lawyers or anything, a statement that is in Thai. And the most important of all is how an alleged and pathetic reconstruction of facts without a lawyer, without a judge and without a prosecutor,” he noted. “There was a police officer who said 'We deceived Daniel'. We have the statement presented. How did they deceive him? They tell him 'Daniel, you are not detained, we are going to deport you, sign and go to Spain.' and sign”. And he adds: “What they did is not legal. The police did it wrong.”

García Montes points to the Thai police but trusts the court: “It is an objective court and cannot approve evidence that can be admitted in any country in the world. How can you declare to a public defender that you do not know who you are, nor identify yourself, and then say that you know it is a professional license? But Daniel doesn't know what a professional license is! It's an invention. He makes that statement to questions and the lawyer is talking to the police and the police answered…”

“In three and a half years he will be in Spain”

The lawyer is sure he can prove that there was no premeditation in the murder of Edwin Arrieta: “If this is proven, he was in Spain with a third of the sentence. If we talk about eight years, he will be in Spain in three and a half years”, he assured. And he insists: “All police action is subject to a concept that is licit or illicit evidence. If the proof is that it is carried out without a lawyer, without judicial or prosecutorial control… This grotesque reconstruction takes the knife, let's be serious. Without a lawyer, without a judge and without a prosecutor, it is not serious. And it is not serious to take him on that pilgrimage with the press behind him doing things that no one understood. When that reaches the court and the prosecutor, now it is seen that those tests, that the police have filtered outside the judge and the prosecutor, to the press… In sin they have their penance.”

Regarding the dismemberment of the corpse, a crime that Daniel admitted, he points out: “I understand that from an aesthetic and populist point of view, the dismemberment draws attention, but The dismemberment of a dead person is a desecration of corpses, which is punishable by one year or a fine. “Like raping a dead person is not rape but desecration of a corpse.”
