Dani Pacheco: from Aris de Limassol to train with El Palo

New times for Dani Pacheco. The former player of Barcelona, Liverpool, Norwich, Rayo Vallecano, Huesca, Alcorcón, Getafe, Alavés. Betis, Malaga and Logroñés trains with El Palo de Tercera RFEF. He is now without a team after having terminated last day 7 of the currents with Aris Limassol of Cyprus.

El Palo is a well-known club in Malaga that was in the military for two seasons in Second B (current First RFEF). It was recently hit by the death of its charismatic president Juan Godoy. He occupies his position Manu Herediawho is the founder of BeeSoccer, a prestigious website for news, results and statistics.

It was the player himself who spread the news through his Twitter account with the following message addressed to El Palo. “Thank you for always opening the doors for me”. It is not the first time that the player has worked at the San Ignacio facilities, where the Paleño team plays. He already did it in September 2020 when he was fired by Málaga, along with seven other players (Diego González, Juanpi, Luis Hernández, Boularoud, Renato Santos, Rolón and Cecchini) through an Employment Regulation File (ERE). Pacheco was recovering at that time from talagia in his foot. Later he signed for Logroñés.

There is a circumstance that another of those affected by this ERE; the portuguese Renato Santos, he also trained at these facilities. He has recently signed for Algeciras along with two other ex-Malaguistas, Alberto Bueno and Álex Robles.

Dani Pacheco’s career was very precocious. At the age of 12, Urbano Ortega, Barcelona scout and former Malaguista player, took him to the Barça team in a move that caused great discomfort in Malaga. Considered one of the brightest talents in the Blue and White youth academy, he went through Liverpool. He rose to the Premier League with Norwich and in Spain he also rose to the First Division consecutively with Alavés, Betis and Getafe. In 2018-19 he signed for Málaga claimed by Juan Ramón Muñiz.

But things didn’t go as he expected. The delicate institutional moment of the club and the injuries conditioned his performance, irregular, with few moments where he showed his enormous talent. Now, at 31 years old, the one from Pizarra wants to show that he still has football in his boots.
