“I’m not surprised by Barça’s start”
BARCELONA, 4 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –
FC Barcelona’s Spanish player Dani Olmo said he was calm and convinced that the Blaugrana club “would sort everything out” in terms of his registration in the squad so he could play at the start of the season, despite missing the first two games, and added that the great start in LaLiga EA Sports does not surprise him.
“It all started very quickly. In the end I knew that these were things that could happen, but I had faith in the club and I knew that Barça would fix it. I made my debut against Rayo and the start was as I had hoped,” he admitted in an interview with ‘El Larguero’ on Cadena SER.
“In the end everything comes when it has to come. I worked hard when I was young and now I am in a place where we want to win. I am delighted to share a dressing room with some of the players in the national team and at Barcelona. I meet many players and that is why the adaptation has been very good. We are friends and now we are teammates, much better,” he commented.
As for the four wins in four games in La Liga, he said he was not surprised. “I was not surprised by Barça’s start, we were coming off a good pre-season and the objective was to win the four games before the break,” he admitted.
Olmo does not want to think of anyone else as a favourite for LaLiga. “We are focused on our own game. They will always be there. In the end everything is decided by details. I am not in the skin of the Madrid players. That is more a matter for the press. I have just won a European Championship and I have not tired of winning. Hunger is something that is not lost and everyone in the team wants to win with FC Barcelona,” he said.
“Madrid and Atleti haven’t started so well, but they will always be there. You have to have a team, but also results. We have chemistry between us and with the coach. I think we are playing well and we have to continue like this,” said the man from Terrassa, who is back with Spain, with whom he won the European Championship this summer as a protagonist.
And now they face two new matches, against Serbia and Switzerland in the first two matches of Group 4 of the UEFA Nations League, a title they are defending. “You can see the affection of the people, but this continues. Now we are focused again on defending the Nations League title, but you can see the affection of the people,” he admitted.
