A survey conducted in Denmark reflects that almost half of those who have participated disapprove of the decision of the Danish international soccer player of Afghan origin, Nadia Nadim |to accept the position of Ambassador of the censored Qatar World Cup.
According to the study of 2,000 people, nearly half (46%) believe that the soccer player should resign because it is a World Cup highly criticized for going against the basic rights of migrant workers and, among others, such as the rights of women, of LGBTI rights. 18.8% think it’s okay that Nadim said yes and 35.3% answered “don’t know”.
It became known on April 1 that Nadim had been given the new role and fans and colleagues thought it was an April Fool’s joke. She was not, and soon after she was rejected as an ambassador for the Danish Refugee Council.
