Dalmau oasis: “You thought I was gone, right?”

He ran with his arms outstretched towards the band, slid to his knees and yelled at the camera. “Come on!” He said Adrián Dalmau after participating in a FC Utrecht goal for the first time since last March. The Balearic forward, ostracized by his coach, René Hake, unloaded all the anger that always produces being the last option. Until he came out in the 76th minute of the clash against Heracles, Dalmau had seven consecutive games on the bench. He did not even play in the Cup against the modest SteDoCo, from the Fourth Division. His shot would have gone to the corner if it did not hit Knoester’s head. In fact it was an own goal, but that doesn’t matter.

Adrián Dalmau smiled again in the middle of a season that does not wish him or his worst enemy. “You thought I was gone, right?”said after the game a footballer who not so long ago scored 19 goals in the Eredivisie with Heracles. “Everyone knows that my situation is difficult, but I will continue to be a professional as I have been for the last six months. It is a bad moment, but I can also learn from him and become stronger,” added Adrián Dalmau at AD.nl. The former Villarreal, Real Madrid or Mallorca player has suffered several injuries since landing in Utrecht, but he has already been in full shape for months: “I can only work hard and give my best in the minutes I play.”

Despite the oasis of happiness caused by his winning header in 93 ‘, Adrián Dalmau’s situation at FC Utrecht quickly became cloudy again. His coach, René Hake, acknowledged that the Spaniard had minutes due to the absences of Sander van Streek and Moussa Sylla. “That he entered had to do with them not being there. I can understand that he is not happy, but it is good that he is eager to show what he can bring to the team,” said the Dutch coach. “I’ll be ready when you need me”, replied the first Spanish to get a ‘poker’ of goals in the Eredivisie. “I want to play. I want to enjoy,” he said.
