One more year, Cristina Pedroche is the center of attention at the Antena 3 Chimes, an event that has become a tradition awaited by millions of people. This year, the presenter raises her voice alongside UNICEF Spain in favor of children to make visible the importance of protecting each boy and girl against any type of violence, abuse and exploitation.
This message is reflected in a dress designed by Josie, which combines innovation and tradition with deep meaning. Created with fine millinery techniques, the design includes cotton crochet and 8,500 crystals created from drops of crystallized breast milk that are a symbol of protection, the result of the work of jeweler Belén Mazas, from the Morir de Amor brand.
The design is made up of a corset, cap and panties, made entirely with fine millinery techniques, creating ad hoc lasts that give shape to the different pieces. Once the structure was created, VIVASCARRION had to lattice, sew and mold the pieces in the mold with cotton crochet to splash the drops of glazed breast milk. A laborious artisanal process of more than 2,500 hours of work that results in a jewel dress weighing more than 42 kg.
The dress is a true work of art. The drops of breast milk, which Pedroche kept during her first motherhood, have been transformed into decorative elements that adorn the entire structure. From the waist, where they are mixed with silver leaf forming quartz shapes, to the cap embroidered with paper feathers.
The result is a mechano-chandelier from which more than 40 nipples emerge, flowing with crystallized breast milk, and which Josie defines as “a female deity associated with motherhood, the earth, fertility, agriculture and life; as were Demeter, Isis, Parvati, Lat, Kubaba, Coatlicue, Cybele, Houtu, or Hepat.”
The creative director explains that “this dress makes me very happy because, once again, it has allowed me to put the enormous media focus created ten years ago on Made in Spain personalities such as VIVASCARRION, and Morir de Amor, I hope this dress nourishes us with its pious milk and make us better human beings in this year that we begin by helping to make visible the situation of lack of protection of so many boys and girls.
José María Vera, executive director of UNICEF Spain, has highlighted that “violence against children occurs in many circumstances. To begin with, in armed conflicts. Today, more than 473 million boys and girls – more than one in every six around the world – live in areas affected by conflict. But violence also occurs in the places where children should be most protected: their homes and schools, and also in the digital environment. investing in your well-being is a fundamental axis of UNICEF’s work that guarantees its full development and future.
For her part, the television presenter has declared that “this year I am especially excited about the arrival of the new year. It is a privilege for me to be able to broadcast the Chimes one more year. I feel tremendously proud to join UNICEF Spain, which for 78 years years has worked tirelessly to protect children. We have the duty to fight to guarantee the well-being of each boy and girl, as a common good: so that they can dream, so that they can reach their full potential and that all their dreams become reality. . To the 2025 I ask for peace, tolerance and responsibility.”
In this way, Cristina Pedroche and Josie have turned the Campanadas into a space for creativity and reflection. What began as a surprising style has transformed into a tradition that combines fashion, art and social messages. This year, with the help of UNICEF Spain, the event becomes a platform to inspire real change, remembering that children deserve to grow up in a world in peace, free of violence, abuse or exploitation and full of opportunities.
