Cristina Pedroche wants to be the queen of the Puerta del Sol in Madrid and her consort is not David Muñoz but the cook Alberto Chicote. She is expecting her first child with her husband, the world’s greatest chef.
The war in Ukraine has served the presenter as an excuse for protest and with that cause she has wanted to transmit in these chimes of 2022 with her look, a supposed tribute to refugees spread all over the world.
In reality, she and her network have been looking for life for nine years to support the interest that gains an audience under a noble cause to actually see the expected design of the presenter. As usual, Pedroche dropped clues on television programs in which he collaborates, such as Zapeando or El Hormiguero.
The designer José Fernández Pacheco, better known as Josie, is in charge of the creative direction of the project and this time it is supposed that a claim for Human Rights has been invented.
It has worked hard: it has had the participation of the UN Refugee Agency, UNHCR, which has collaborated throughout the process to make the final result possible. 75 people —from 10 different countries— who reside in the Refugee Reception Centers of Alcobendas and Vallecas, in the Community of Madrid, have expressed their wishes for this 2023 in the textile piece.
Pedroche wished his bell ringer on Antena 3 the best: “I hope that this year wars and conflicts disappear. That no one has to flee. That we can all be free and decide. We have the responsibility to make this a better world to leave it to those who come”.
Pedroche has appeared with a cape made from UNHCR tents by 75 refugees currently living in the Community of Madrid. Pure symbology in the cape, and the skirt, all sponsored by Coca Cola.
Iñigo Garaizabal is responsible for making the cape and skirt and Jacinto de Manuel is the architect of the sculpture of the dove of peace that covered the presenter’s chest. A solidarity hit. The cloak is made from pieces of cloth from UNHCR tents. Josie has been inspired by the Spanish designer Miguel Adrover, who already collaborated with the UN in 2003.
