Arsenal are experiencing an unexpected problem at the beginning of this 21/22 that is only in its early stages. Those of Mikel Arteta have had to stop their trip to the United States to make a preseason tour in which they planned to play the Florida Cup because of several positives within the club.
According to The Athletic, a small number of travelers tested positive for Covid-19. This forced the club to halt preparations for the trip to America. Everything, less than a month before the Premier starts, which will do so on August 13 against Brentford.
The Gunners were ready to travel to Florida this week for a friendly tournament involving Inter, Everton and Millonarios. Arsenal was scheduled to face Inter Milan on Sunday 25 and then the team that won between Everton and Millonarios.
From the organization of the event they issued a statement in which they regretted that Arsenal could not travel and wished them a “speedy recovery”. They assure that they are with the “final preparations” of the tournament and that they are in communication with the fans who had tickets to offer them different options. At the moment no team has been communicated that will cover the Londoners' square.
In addition to this problem with the Covid-19 that postpones new meetings, Arsenal was not signing a precisely exciting preseason. The Gunners played against the Scots Hibernian and Rangers and reaped a 2-1 defeat against the former and a 2-2 draw against Steven Gerrard's team.
