Coutinho scores in Aston Villa’s win over Leeds

Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa continues to be launched and increased Leeds’ problems this Thursday, now led by Jesse Marsch after the dismissal of Marcelo Bielsa and whom he won 0-3. Philippe Coutinho was the protagonist, on loan from Barcelona in the ranks of Villa and who scored the first goal for his team.

Two defeats in two games leads Marsch as Leeds manager. Those of Elland Road, diminished by the injury, since December 2, of their great star, the English international Kalvin Phillios, accumulate no less than six consecutive defeats. At the moment with Marsch they continue to lose.

It was in the 22nd minute when Coutinho scored, in a state of grace. He shot with his right foot and the ball was deflected by Pascal Struijk. Since the Brazilian arrived at Aston Villa, only Harry Kane (8) has been involved in more goals than Coutinho (7). Coutinho has 4 goals and 3 assists in 8 games played with the Birmingham team.

Aston Villa finished resolving the match in the second half. Cash himself scored the second goal for Birmingham assisted by Danny Ings. It was 66′.

The one who rounded off the 0-3 was Calum Chambers, taking advantage of a ball from Tyrone Mings in the 73rd minute. The last straw for Leeds was the injury of Junior Firpo. Yes, there was good news for Elland Road and it was the return of Patrick Bamford after 3 months out due to injury. He came in at 58′ for Jack Harrison.

For Aston Villa, 9th, it is the third consecutive victory. Leeds is 16th, 2 points behind the relegation places.
