Courtois, operated on his right knee

MADRID, 20 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Real Madrid’s Belgian goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, underwent surgery this Wednesday for a torn internal meniscus in his right knee, after he was injured this Tuesday during the white team’s training session in Valdebebas, as reported by the club through of a statement.

The operation performed on Thibaut Courtois was supervised by Real Madrid’s medical services, and went as planned. The white club has reflected in its statement that the Belgian goalkeeper will begin his recovery process in the coming days.

In this way, Courtois says goodbye to the remainder of the season, at least as a club, although his participation in the European Championship in Germany, which will be held from June 14 to July 14, is practically ruled out.

This is the second serious injury suffered by the goalkeeper this season, after breaking the cruciate ligament in his left knee before the start of this season.
