Courtois: “I see the team very well for the start of the League”

Thibaut Courtois attended the official Real Madrid media three days before Zidane's team begins its participation in LaLiga Santander. The white team visits Real Sociedad on Sunday (21:00, Movistar LaLiga). The Belgian goalkeeper is satisfied with the work carried out by the team and himself in this short preseason and is ambitious with the team's objectives in the face of the challenges posed by the competition.

Preseason.— “This year has been a little different, shorter, but it has been very intense. We have trained very well and I look very good for the start of the League.”

Sensations. “Personally, I feel very good, in shape to try to continue what we were doing after lockdown last season.”

Objectives of Madrid.— “We want to win everything. That's what you always have to do at Real Madrid: win trophies. Every trophy we play is to try to win it, reach the final and fight it. Our goal is to win as many trophies as possible this year” .

The Real Sociedad, first rival.— “It's always a difficult game there. We already played after confinement. Obviously, without an audience it's different. But it's a very strong team, always difficult.”

Start of the competition.— “We are really looking forward, with a very great hope to start and fight again for the League and defend our title. Hopefully we can win it again.”

In addition to the championship that Madrid defends, Courtois also defends the Zamora trophy that he won thanks to the only 20 goals that he conceded in the 34 games he played in the championship (in 18 games he left a clean sheet). It was the first time in 12 years (since Casillas achieved it in the 2007-2008 season) that a Madrid goalkeeper finished the league as the goalkeeper with the least thrashing.
