Celta’s coach, Eduardo Coudet, wanted this Friday to put an end to the bad dynamics of four years without beating Atlético, for which they will play “dominating”, aware that the rival they will face is “high in hierarchy”, so they will have to adapt “as quickly as possible to the match”.
“I don’t look at that of chaining -if they win, it would be three consecutive wins-, I look at the next game. We want to win and it will not be an exception tomorrow, whatever rival we have in front of us, we try to be protagonists. We are going to try to adapt as quickly as possible to the match. We always try to play dominating, but we will have a high-ranking rival in front of us,” said Coudet at the press conference prior to the match against the rojiblancos this Saturday (9:00 p.m.).
The Argentine warned that they will take “the necessary precautions” against Atleti. “Atlético plays what ‘Cholo’ wants and that is his greatest virtue,” praised the Argentine, in addition to highlighting his aerial game. “They have a very rich squad and one of the best coaches in the world. It will take us to be 100 percent,” he added.
Coudet recalled the last “even” match against the ‘Cholo’ team that they had to lose, which is why he urged them to take advantage of all their chances against teams of such magnitude. “We try to think about what we can do and hurt ourselves,” he said.

“There are always streaks, we always go with the intention of doing it in the best way, and on the positive side, we have broken a lot of statistics. We will try to change this dynamic of so many years without beating Atlético,” said ‘Chacho’ Coudet about the streak of the Galician team against the rojiblancos, a team they have not beaten since September 2018.
However, he insisted that the difference with the Madrid team lies in the hierarchy of the players, higher in the mattress squad, although he stressed that they only think of themselves and their “idea of the game, beyond the rival.”
“We have alternatives and that’s the best thing that the game against Cádiz left us, in addition to the three points,” he commented on Celta’s last win, which won 3-0 with variations and rotations.
Asked about proper names, Coudet supported a future call for Iago Aspas with the Spanish team, given his great moment in form – top scorer in the competition with five goals, the same as Barça’s Robert Lewandowski. “I would love for him to go to the national team, it would make me happy, it is his goal,” he remarked.
Finally, he valued very positively the growth of the team with him on the bench against direct rivals. “It’s a great symptom of growth, we want the club to be bigger and one of the most important symptoms is to have an idea and play like a great. It’s nice that they demand, it goes hand in hand with growth,” he concluded.
