Córdoba defends its leadership against Montijo

On the next day of the Second RFEF, the twenty-seventh, Montijo and Córdoba will face each other.

Montijo arrives at the twenty-seventh day with the desire to recover points after suffering a defeat against Xerez Deportivo in the previous match by a result of 1-0. Since the beginning of the competition, the locals have won 12 of the 26 games played so far and have conceded 21 goals against 29 in favour.

Regarding the visiting squad, Córdoba had just won their last two games by 2-1 and 0-1, the first against San Roque Lepe in their fiefdom and the second against Antequera outside their field, so they intend to take advantage the winning inertia at the Montijo stadium. Before this match, Córdoba had won in 20 of the 26 matches played in the Second RFEF this season, with a figure of 67 goals for and 19 against.

As a local, Montijo has won eight times, lost twice and drawn three times in 13 games played so far, which means that they are not taking advantage of home games to add a good point income to their pocket. In outings, Cordoba have won six times and been beaten twice in their 12 games so far, so they are quite a strong away opponent for the hosts to deal with.

Likewise, the visitors have a winning streak of three games in a row in this competition at the Montijo stadium. The last match they played together in this competition was in November 2021 and ended with a score of 3-1 in favor of Córdoba.

Analyzing their position in the classification table of the Second RFEF, we see that there is a difference of 23 points in favor of the away team. Juan Marrero’s team is in fifth place with 41 points in their locker. For its part, Córdoba has 64 points that have allowed it to take over the current leadership of the competition.
