Fundación Rayo Vallecano, sports champion of the Deportividad group, Córdoba CF, champion of the companionship group, and Athletic Club Fundazioa, champion of Fair Play, were the winners of the 2019/20 season of LaLiga Genuine Santander.
The Complex Esportiu Salou hosted the closing ceremony and award ceremony of a season that lasted two years as a result of COVID-19. The president of the LaLiga Foundation, Fernando Sanz, and the LaLiga Ambassadors, César Sánchez, Marcos Senna and Aintzane Encinas presented the trophies and medals to the champions.
Values such as respect, camaraderie and sportsmanship have been the true protagonists of these days, in which a total of 42 teams have participated, made up of more than 1,000 players, players and coaches, who have met in Tarragona during the weekend of November 12, 13 and 14 to relive the Genuine experience.
In addition to the 36 teams that made up this league before its suspension in March of last year, this weekend has had the presence of the 6 new teams that join the 2021/22 season (Fundació Barça, SD Ponferradina, CF Fuenlabrada, Burgos CF, FC Cartagena and UD Ibiza) who have come as guests to play a friendly tournament.
Josep Maria Andreu, president of Gimnàstic de Tarragona, also attended this closing ceremony. “After two years, we have been able to meet again and celebrate the most genuine values. It is an honor for Nàstic de Tarragona to have been able to host LaLiga Genuine Santander once again,” he said.
“Thanks to the 680 players who have been in this phase of LaLiga Genuine Santander, to the coaching staff, family members, fans and associated brands; without you none of this would be possible,” said Fernando Sanz.
After this weekend full of emotions in Tarragona, LaLiga Genuine Santander is preparing for the celebration of the 2021/22 season, since in the coming weeks the dates and venues of the most genuine competition in the world will be known.
