His state of health, as our readers know, is quite delicate. Concha Velasco, 83 years old, will continue to be admitted this week at the Puerta de Hierro Hospital in Madrid. They are her saddest Christmases, but, according to hers, her son Manuel, she “doesn’t lose heart.” She has said that she “is weak” but also that they hope she will be discharged soon.
But, for the moment, she will have to spend New Year’s Eve in a room at the health center, away from her family, her two children and that grandson who is her right eye. Every year, on December 31, she or she spent it on stage or met at home with her family. On this occasion, everything will be different, by herself, with silence as her only companion, on the last day of 2022 and the first of 2023 she will celebrate them without fuss, perhaps toasting with the health workers who care for her.
One of them, who prefers to remain anonymous, tells us that “Concha is a woman who makes herself loved” and expresses herself as an actress about the veteran actress from Valladolid: “Since she arrived at the hospital, she has earned everyone’s affection. She is very close and likes to chat with people.”
And it is that other patients and their families cannot repress the desire to greet the artist. It is an event for everyone to know that the great Concha Velasco is admitted to the hospital. If she evolves favorably in the next few days, Manuel believes, “they could discharge her next week.” She dreams of being able to be at home to give the gifts of the Kings to her children, and, above all, to her grandson Samuel.
