Concern of the technicians for the slump in the game

Xavi Hernández is not satisfied with the evolution of the team in recent games. Since the victory at home against Sevilla (1-0) that the team has not finished finding itself, offering a very weak image and with many gaps in the game. Both in the tie against Eintracht and Levante at the Ciutat de Valencia, the Blaugrana offered one of the worst versions of the seasonwith errors and serious inaccuracies in all facets, giving a very worrying image of insecurity.

As AS has learned, the coaches do not consider, in any case, that the national team break, after the spectacular 0-4 victory at the Bernabéu, has harmed the Blaugranasince it is noted that the first game after the return -against Sevilla at the Camp Nou- was one of the most complete of the seasondespite the fact that the scoreboard ended with a very tight victory.

However, the coaching staff assumes that both the two games against Eintracht and the day of Levante, Barcelona’s game was well below expectations, both offensively and defensively.

Evidently, Xavi and his staff are working to find a solution to this clear drop in the team’s performance. But to find the solution, you must first look for the reasons. And, among them, the technicians consider that there is a certain “mental exhaustion” in a template which has been playing a final every three days since November. A major effort that has taken the team, in just over four months, from ninth to second place. There is no doubt that the victories against Real Madrid and Sevilla could have partially relieved this demand in the concentration -almost giving as partially fulfilled the objectives-, and in the end the team has paid for this supposed relaxation, with an agonizing victory in the Ciutat de Valencia (2-3) and the elimination in the quarterfinals of the Europa League.

Now the objective of the technicians is to ‘plug in’ the players again for the final stretch of the seasonwhere there are eight games left to confirm the first goal of the season – to qualify among the top four, which gives access to a place in the next edition of the Champions League – and with the ‘almost’ impossible dream of LaLiga still on the horizon.
