BARCELONA, 31 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Competition Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has studied the letter sent yesterday by RCD Espanyol and dismissed its appeal, which asked to annul the judicial resolution that allows the provisional lifting of the sanction against FC Barcelona player Robert Lewandowski , who will play the derby this afternoon.
Competition, whose committee met “urgently” this morning, agreed to the “non-admission of what was requested” by RCD Espanyol, which was to annul the judicial decision of the Central Court number 2 in relation to the very precautionary of Lewandowski, who was sanctioned for his expulsion against Osasuna.
“The reasons have been stated in the letter in which the decision has been communicated to the clubs; and they are summarized in that the Committee cannot annul a judicial decision,” argued the Competition Committee.
Last night, RCD Espanyol sent a letter to Competition requesting that the aforementioned judicial decision be annulled, considering that it was an “injustice” to lift, through ordinary judicial channels, the sanction of a Polish striker who had to be lost a derby that will finally play.
“RCD Espanyol de Barcelona finds it unusual that, 24 hours after the match against FC Barcelona, and after ruling it out by different competent bodies (Competition, Appeal and TAD), a precautionary measure has been granted for a sanction previously imposed on the FC Barcelona player , Robert Lewandowski,” Espanyol said on Friday.
