Competition decides that Dépor-Fuenlabrada be played on Wednesday

The Competition Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has decided today, after a four-hour meeting, that it should be held on Wednesday, August 5, the Deportivo-Fuenlabrada, corresponding to the last day of LaLiga SmartBank, and that had to be postponed due to the appearance of numerous cases of COVID-19 in the Madrid squad.

Two of the three Competition members (Pablo Mayor and Lucas Osorio) have voted in favor of the Deportivo-Fuenlabrada being played, while Carmen Perez, president of said Committee, has abstained.

The RFEF has reported through a note that “the Competition Committee has agreed today that the party Deportivo de La Coruña – CF Fuenlabrada corresponding to the last day of the Second Division championship, which should have been held on July 20 and which was postponed after detecting several positives in the COVID-19 tests carried out on the visiting team, will be held next Wednesday, August 5 ” .

Gonzalez”, Explained the Federation.

The resolution recalls that “an extraordinary procedure is currently being instituted against the CF Fuenlabrada, SAD, from which a sanction could potentially derive (and without implying any predetermination and in no way the resolution of the procedure) that could even alter the outcome of the game ”next Wednesday.

Furthermore, the Committee points out that it is “not within their competence or responsibility, to verify whether or not the sanitary and competitive conditions for this purpose are met” and that, “therefore, in any case, they must ratify by the competent bodies that they correspond that all the sanitary requirements and conditions that allow the celebration of the same are fulfilled ”.

He Sports refused on Monday to pass the mandatory controls to rule out positives for coronavirus in its workforce. The club from A Coruña may not appear at the postponed match against Fuenlabrada since he has demanded through various communications that the last day of LaLiga SmarBank with all the parties in unified schedule.
