The French start-up intends to revolutionize the classic meeting model with the opening of its headquarters in Madrid in September
MADRID, 1 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The French start-up Comet proposes yoga and meditation sessions to improve communication and strengthen ties between employees and managers before starting a meeting in the new space that will open this coming fall in a central building, opposite Parque de The Retreat, in Madrid.
These sessions increase performance and efficiency, improve decision-making, stimulate creativity, increase productivity and reduce absenteeism.
For this reason, the ‘start-up’ founded by Víctor Carreau, Nicholas Findling and Maxime Albertus in 2016 in Paris advises, and following the keys of its ‘meetings scientists’, that breathing exercises and stretching be carried out so as not to lose the concentration and perform better in meetings.
After 50 minutes of uninterrupted work, about 50 percent of attention span is lost and needs to be regenerated with the help of effective breaks. According to experts, practicing yoga or meditation renews the ability to think because when we remain too long without moving, the blood flow to the brain slows down and the clarity of the mind decreases.
In addition, by reactivating the cardiovascular system through movement, the entire body is replenished with the oxygen and nutrients necessary for its proper functioning.
This, among other activities, will be those offered from September by Comet Meetings, which in 2020 raised a 30 million round of financing and which aims to promote face-to-face meetings in environments that foster collective intelligence.
For its first opening in Madrid, Comet Meetings has installed itself in a historic protected building opposite the emblematic Puerta de Felipe IV in El Retiro and next to the Casón del Buen Retiro. The headquarters has different universes distributed over 6 floors in a space of 1,900 square meters with catering areas, meeting rooms, common spaces and exteriors.
The 19 modular meeting rooms have a capacity from 2 to 80 participants. There are also two outdoor spaces with views of El Retiro Park, Madrid’s ‘green lung’.
“For us, being able to convey the Comet vision in our projects is essential: Companies have to learn to hold fewer but better meetings. For us, a successful meeting must respect these 5 dimensions: the right environment that favors exchanges the right level of services to focus on what matters, the right participants, the right content structured and delivered right, and last but not least, the right mindset to achieve meeting goals,” said Victor Carreau, co-founder and CEO of Comet Meetings.
This new opening in Madrid represents a “very important step” in the international expansion of Comet to export the format of successful meetings and its concept throughout the world. The options they offer depend on the project and they have personalized accompaniment with activities that they propose before and after the meeting, such as yoga and meditation sessions.
