Colón vibrates again with the World Cup ten years later with Torres as star

Madrid's Plaza de Colón has hosted the main commemorative act for the tenth anniversary of Spain's victory in the World Cup in South Africa. To the emblematic gazebo, a place where the competition was followed ten years ago through giant screens, they have attended one of the forwards of that historic team, Fernando Torres, and political authorities such as the mayor of the city, José Luis Martínez Almeida or the councilor for Culture, Tourism and Sports, Andrea Levy. The fans, complying with the established sanitary measures, have been able take a close look at the World Cup and photograph yourself with it.

Under a sun of justice on the Plaza de Colón and a piped music with Shakira's ‘Waka Waka’ as the main theme, around 300 people have been passing by the World Cup trophy and a ‘Jabulani’ ball signed by the players who won the World Cup. All under a sanitary protocol that included safety distance in the queue and cleaning of the showcase after each photograph.

The most exciting time of the morning has come when Fernando Torres has taken the stage, who remembered the achievement of the first World Cup in the history of Spain with great affection: “They were six magnificent years and a moment of great enthusiasm and joy; I have never experienced anything like it in my career again. “

In addition to Torres, they have been on stage accompanying the former national team player, José Luis Martínez Almeida, mayor of Madrid, and Andrea Levy, councilor for Culture, Tourism and Sports, all of them dressed in the Spanish shirt. “They made us cry with happiness and I want to highlight the human quality of the group and, above all, that of Del Bosque, who is an excellent person and was an excellent coach, “said Almeida. Although the presence of the former coach was expected, Del Bosque has not been on the spot.

Commemorative T-shirt

Along with the World Cup, it has been enabled a point of sale for the World Cup commemorative shirt, designed in the same pattern and style as those worn at the Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg. It is a limited edition of 15,000 units, at the price of 49.95 euros (plus 9.95 for personalization) and with a mask from the Gift Selection.
