The first title of the year on the World Padel Tour was scored this Sunday at the Abu Dhabi Master 2023 by Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia, in the men’s tournament, and Ariana Sánchez and Paula Josemaría, in the women’s.
The four best players in the world met in the men’s final. Coello and Tapia became the youngest couple to be champions on the circuit with a 7-6, 6-3 victory over Alejandro Galán and Juan Lebrón. The first set confirmed the surprise option.
In overwhelming mode, Tapia and Coello revolutionized the match in the second set, a 4-0 that led to the title despite the reaction of Galán and Lebrón, to be the first champions of 2023.
Meanwhile, the women’s final saw its classic between Alejandra Salazar and Gemma Triay against Paula Josemaría and Ariana Sánchez. Ari and Paula soon became the protagonists of the first set (6-3), with a comeback in the second set with another 6-3.
