The Spanish player Clara Azurmendi could not overcome her debut at the India Open on Wednesday, a category 750 event on the world badminton circuit, when she fell to the world number one, the Japanese Akane Yamaguchi, 21-7, 21- eleven.
The Gipuzkoan had a difficult debut at the event as she was up against one of the best currently in her sport, the current world champion and who hardly gave her any options.
