Manchester City will receive the highest bonus from FIFA, more than 4 million euros, for loaning players for the World Cup in Qatar held in December 2022, while FC Barcelona, second also exceeding 4 million, and Bayern de Munich, close to that amount, complete the podium.
According to a report published this Thursday by FIFA, the new champion of the Champions League will receive 4.1 million euros thanks to the Club Benefits Program of the world soccer governing body. Next on the list is Barça, which will pocket just over 4 million, while Bayern will enjoy 3.8 million.
“Together with the players and the fans, the clubs play a crucial role in making the World Cup the pinnacle of our sport. In this regard, the FIFA Club Benefits Program recognizes the contribution of clubs to the success of the Cup. in the World,” FIFA President Gianni Infantino said in the report.
In total, FIFA will distribute a total of 187 million euros between clubs from all the federations whose players participated in the World Cup in Qatar. Specifically, the Spanish teams will receive 21 million, while the team outside Europe with the highest income will be Al Sadd from Qatar (2.5 million).
After the agreement reached by FIFA and ECA, for the 2026 and 2030 tournaments, the organization will increase this bonus for the clubs to 318 million euros.
