The Portuguese appeared at a press conference before the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 against Sporting de Portugal on Tuesday.

“This club deserves to win a ‘Champions League’. It is what the club works for and what we are trying to achieve this season,” Cancelo said.

“We are a very strong team. The players we have know how to deal with the pressure of reaching a Champions League final, but we are up against the best in Europe,” he added.

“Right now we’re in a good moment. We don’t concede many goals and we score a lot. That reflects our daily work. Now we’re thinking about the Champions League and the game against Sporting, that’s the game we want to win,” he stressed.
